University of Otago, Wellington Symposium: Indigenous People and Cancer

The Public Health department at the University of Otago, Wellington are hosting a Symposium entitled Indigenous people and cancer: a shared agenda for Aotearoa, Australia, and Pacific Nations from 19-20 February 2018 in Wellington.

The event will see a number of international speakers including Dr. Paula Vivili, Head of the Public Health Division at Secretariat of the Pacific Community, Professor Neal Palafox from the University of Hawaii and Freddie Bray, Head of the Cancer Surveillance Section at the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

The symposium will look at the spectrum of cancer care and will also include a session on the challenges for cancer care in the Pacific and ways to move forward.
